Mariella Utili gratuated with highest honors in History of Art. Since 1978 she works in Italian Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, in charge, during these years, of Exibition Department, Direction of Certosa di Capri (1982/86), Museo di Capodimonte (1986/2012) Soprintendenza di Parma e Piacenza (2012/2015) and, finally, since march 2015, Polo museale regionale della Campania.

She was also responsible of important restoration interventions on paintings, frescoes and sculptures in several neapolitan churches, and taught in University courses and master. She studied and wrote about neapolitan painting of XVII century and history of collections, and was in charge of important Italian and international exhibitions.
She is a member of Consiglio Superiore per i Beni Culturali e Paesaggistici del Ministero dei Beni e le Attività Culturali e del Turismo and vice president of Comitato tecnico-scientifico dei musei e della economia della cultura.
