BAM! has a new mission for 2016: discovering and implementing new frontiers of audience development for the theatre and performing arts, starting with digital engagement.
Let’s begin with a trip to Europe. A full-immersion experience incorporating case studies, training and networking, starting on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 April with IETM Amsterdam. Europe’s most important contemporary performing arts network is dedicating this Dutch meeting to Live Art in Digital Times: the sessions will explore a diverse range of subjects, from digital technology as a new public space to cross-media storytelling, all the way through to cultural content streaming techniques. Follow it on social media: #IETMAmsterdam
On Monday 18 April we’ll be moving to Brussels for Engagement is the key but where are the doors?, a conference organised by the European Be Spectactive project, which investigates innovative forms of engagement for the performing arts. A great opportunity for a series of case studies, experiments and good practices to be examined and used as sources of inspiration. We’ll tell you all about it using: #ACTive
Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 are the new days for the European Culture Forum, after last November’s unfortunate postponement. We’re looking forward to two days in Flagey with European commissioners, ministers (including the Italian minister), policymakers and major networking opportunities. To keep up with European cultural policies and Creative Europe (which is about to issue some VERY eagerly awaited news about the latest results of its funding applications: but that’s another story) follow the hashtag: #CultureForumEU
We’ll be returning home on Thursday 21 April. We’ll see you at the station with our pockets full of flyers.
