BAM! is supporting fifteen organisations, including museums, archives and libraries, awarded funding under the Regione Emilia-Romagna’s call for proposals

The Project

ART-ER is supporting the Regione Emilia-Romagna in developing measures to assist organisations within the region’s cultural and creative ecosystem, including museums, archives and libraries. These organisations were awarded funding through the Digital Humanities Call for Proposals for the digitisation of cultural heritage, and it has helped them to develop and promote the selected projects.

Why?

The digitisation of cultural heritage represents a complex and multifaceted challenge for museums, archives and libraries, requiring specific expertise and a strategic vision of digital transformation processes. A clear need has therefore emerged for specialist support to help these organisations better understand the opportunities offered by digital technologies and to ensure that their project activities are aligned with their broader development strategies.

How?

BAM! is working alongside ART-ER in a strategic support programme for fifteen museums, archives and libraries selected from among the call’s beneficiaries. The programme has been developed in consultation with ART-ER and the Cultural Heritage Department of the Regione Emilia-Romagna.

Designed and delivered by BAM! between September and December 2025, the programme is intended to foster the exchange of expertise, align project approaches and promote a shared vision of digital transformation across the museums, archives and libraries sector, supporting each organisation in developing its project through a framework of exchange and mutual learning.

It is divided into:

  • five thematic webinars exploring tools and platforms for the digital preservation and promotion of cultural heritage;
  • plenary sessions held in person, combining training and workshop elements, with a focus on development strategies and target audiences;
  • a programme of personalised, one-to-one mentoring sessions with each of the fifteen organisations, designed to address challenges related to organisational innovation, sustainability and skills development within each project;
  • a live matchmaking session, to share experiences and foster exchanges and collaborations between museums, archives and libraries and businesses operating in the cultural and digital sectors.
