Support for the new sustainable mobility space in the Parco dell’Osservanza

The Project

Nel cuore del Parco dell’Osservanza, oggi al centro di un ampio processo di rigenerazione urbana che vede coinvolti anche il Nuovo Circondario Imolese e il Comune di Imola, l’ex Cabina Elettrica è oggetto di un progetto di riqualificazione per diventare un hub dedicato alla mobilità sostenibile. La piccola architettura degli anni Trenta, recuperata grazie a un intervento finanziato dal PNRR e dal Consorzio Con.Ami, si prepara ad accogliere nuove funzioni per promuovere movimento, benessere e scoperta del territorio.

Why?

To support the conversion of the former electrical substation into a new hub for sustainable mobility, it was essential to envisage a space capable of engaging with the city in a clear and recognisable manner. A coherent identity needed to be established that respected the site’s history while expressing its new purpose, so that it could serve as a tangible point of reference for residents, visitors and the wider local community.

These requirements prompted a participatory process that resulted in the development of a shared identity, capable of shaping the use, narrative and future evolution of the space.

How?

To support the transformation of the substation into a new hub for sustainable mobility, BAM! initiated a process of listening and contextual analysis, including interviews with local operators and organisations active in the sector. This work offered a clear understanding of community needs and the area’s potential, enabling the Nuovo Circondario Imolese to prepare a coherent and effective public notice.

Subsequently, BAM! developed a positioning strategy that set out the vision, role and identity of the new space. The name “Centralina” (meaning “electrical substation”) emerged from this analytical and brand identity work, alongside the development of a coordinated visual identity that will accompany the building in its new phase of life.

Finally, BAM! devised a dedicated communication strategy, delivering coordinated materials and practical tools to support both the launch of activities and the recognisability of the site.
