Imola Loves Bike: a new identity and a communication plan to promote soft mobility

The Project

Imola Loves Bike is a project run by the Comune di Imola to promote sustainable mobility in everyday travel and tourism. Winner of the Bici in Comune call for proposals, it encompasses a range of activities and initiatives.

The first aims to encourage cycling for everyday journeys, such as commuting between home and school or home and work, particularly through the “Cambiamo Rotta” (Let’s Change Route) and “Bike to Work” projects.<0} The second promotes cycling tourism, connecting the Ciclovia del Santerno cycle path to the Via Romagna, while the third includes four themed events. One of these is Graffiti Bike, an event that combines cycling, culture and public art to promote cycling as a means of discovering street art created since 2007 as part of artistic events and projects.

Why?

A dedicated communication campaign was needed to engage and inform citizens about the initiatives related to the Imola Loves Bike programme.

The aim of the campaign is to promote soft mobility culture as a healthy and sustainable everyday choice, encouraging residents to participate in the activities and events on offer, and to consolidate Imola’s reputation as a model of good practice to be copied.

How?

Working on behalf of the Comune di Imola, BAM! is involved in the communication and promotion of some of the project initiatives.

Starting with the rebranding of Imola Loves Bike and Graffiti Bike and the development of materials for the new coordinated identity, throughout the duration of the assignment BAM! is managing the Imola Loves Bike social media channels, coordinating video content and developing a specific promotion and communication plan for the different project areas to reach their respective target audiences. In alignment with Imola’s municipal administration, BAM! is running the project operations, focusing on:

  • context analysis and integrated communication strategy
  • creativity and branding
  • content development and social media management
  • digital advertising
