Brand identity, communication and facilitation strategy

The Project

The Unione di Comuni Alta Marmilla, an autonomous local authority that has united nineteen municipalities in the province of Oristano since 2007, has embarked on a process to rethink the role of culture as a lever for territorial development. As part of the National Strategy for Internal Areas, the union is working to define an integrated model for the enhancement of the area’s four main cultural areas: the landscape as a school, laboratory and theatre; museums, libraries and public and private archives; archaeological sites; and the performing and visual arts supported by digital technology.

The objective is to connect the tangible and intangible heritage of the Alta Marmilla, building an integrated cultural system grounded in listening to local communities and oriented toward audience development.

Why?

The Alta Marmilla is an inland area of Sardinia, rich in history, landscapes and cultural heritage, yet affected by gradual depopulation. Strengthening the local cultural system therefore entails strategic investment in a driver of development, capable of generating new opportunities and reinforcing the relationship between communities and places. To define a shared and sustainable strategy, the union has chosen to involve specialists with proven experience in participatory processes and audience development policies.

The Dinamica network, comprising Ideazione, BAM! Strategie Culturali and Melting Pro, is supporting the Unione di Comuni dell’Alta Marmilla through a structured process of listening and co-design. The process brings together citizens, cultural organisations and associations, and public administrations to collaboratively define the four required Development Plans.

How?

The work being carried out by Dinamica combines participatory methodologies, cultural heritage mapping and strategic planning. The activities aim to build a shared framework of resources, needs and potential in the Alta Marmilla area, in order to outline an integrated management model that can guide the union’s future decisions.

As part of the project, BAM! is responsible for strategic communication, defining the brand identity of the participation process, communication guidelines and the visual identity of the Development Plans. BAM! is also providing support to partners during co-design meetings, facilitating working groups and collecting materials useful for storytelling and documenting the process.
