The Unione di Comuni Alta Marmilla, an autonomous local authority that has united nineteen municipalities in the province of Oristano since 2007, has embarked on a process to rethink the role of culture as a lever for territorial development. As part of the National Strategy for Internal Areas, the union is working to define an integrated model for the enhancement of the area’s four main cultural areas: the landscape as a school, laboratory and theatre; museums, libraries and public and private archives; archaeological sites; and the performing and visual arts supported by digital technology.
The objective is to connect the tangible and intangible heritage of the Alta Marmilla, building an integrated cultural system grounded in listening to local communities and oriented toward audience development.
