Established under the Regione Emilia-Romagna’s “Reti Museali 2024” call for proposals, the Depositi e Patrimoni Network and REmusER are two thematic regional networks designed to strengthen collaboration and professional development. Depositi e Patrimoni Network brings together eleven museum collections that have consolidated their collaboration following the RE-ORG course, with the aim of strengthening staff skills, improving management practices and addressing shared challenges in a coordinated way. REmusER brings together Emilia-Romagna’s ecomuseums, promoting training, capacity building, strategic positioning and advocacy to ensure full recognition of their role within the regional cultural system.

The Project
Why?
Both Depositi e Patrimoni in Rete and REmusER needed to complete a process of consolidating their governance structures and internal regulatory frameworks. Despite their differing characteristics, compositions and objectives, both networks needed to define their roles, decision-making processes, coordination tools and shared operating procedures more clearly. To address this need and strengthen their structures ahead of their applications, they turned to BAM! for support.
How?
For each network, we developed a dedicated programme of strategic and organisational support, structured around the same key stages but adapted to their specific needs and levels of maturity. In both cases, we began with a national benchmarking analysis, identifying established museum and ecomuseum networks and examining their regulations, agreements and governance models in order to identify best practices as a reference point. On this basis, we developed two separate sets of regulations: tailored documents aligned with each network’s context, composition, objectives and stage of development, designed to strengthen their operations, clarify roles and enhance their capacity for collective action.
