Free and certified in-person training with innovative, hands-on approaches and networking events

The Project

“Dicolab. Cultura al Digitale” hubs are physical meeting spaces across Italy where in-person training sessions take place, fostering collaboration among local cultural heritage professionals and encouraging synergies between them and stakeholders in the digital sector, including innovative companies, start-ups and digital experts.

The project is promoted by the Italian Ministry of Culture – Digital Library within the framework of PNRR Cultura 4.0, implemented by the Scuola Nazionale del Patrimonio e delle Attività Culturali and financed by the European Union – Next Generation EU.

There are ten hubs across Italy. The Emilia-Romagna and Marche hub is run by G-Lab S.r.l. Impresa Sociale with Fondazione Golinelli, BAM! Strategie Culturali and Sineglossa.

Why?

With a programme of over forty free courses across two regions, the Dicolab. Cultura al Digitale hub project creates physical meeting spaces aimed at addressing a key contemporary challenge for cultural institutions: navigating and managing the digital transition of cultural heritage effectively and efficiently

The courses, each lasting three hours, are designed to improve the skills of staff at the Ministry of Culture and other public administrations, staff at public and private cultural institutions, businesses and professionals in the sector, and undergraduates and researchers at universities and academies.

How?

The educational programme offered by the Emilia-Romagna and Marche hub, devised and managed by the partnership, will run for three semesters, from March 2025 to June 2026, and will include courses focusing on the digital transition in the cultural heritage sector, aimed at cultural operators and the world of innovation.

The free courses (subject to registration and enrolment on the website dicolab.it/hub/emilia-romagna-marche) provide certification with Open Badge, the European standard for digital certification of knowledge and skills acquired, which can be used in all European and national institutions. They will explore topics such as:

  • interactive experience design;
  • interactive storytelling;
  • production of textual content with generative AI for culture professionals;
  • augmented reality and 3D production for promoting sculptural and mosaic heritage.

As a project partner, BAM! is contributing to the design of the course programme and the development of a communication and engagement strategy tailored to the target audience. The organisation is also drawing on the expertise of its team, with Alice Benassi, Elena Bertelli, Federico Borreani, Martino Catalani and Francesca Lambertini delivering a selection of the courses.
