Consulting and operational support for ICOM Italia’s TOCC Capacity Building “ICOM Learning Centre” project

The Project

ICOM Italia’s project “ICOM Learning Centre – Skills Accelerator for the Italian Cultural System” aims to set up a permanent incubator for training and skills development on the national cultural scene.

The ICOM Learning Center – Skills Accelerator for the Italian Cultural System project funded by the European recovery plan, Next Generation EU, is running from January 2024 to June 2025 with the aim of supporting the growth of a community of professional teachers, researchers and students.
This is possible by organising online and live meetings, working tables and research groups, which can work together to establish shared standards and guidelines useful for the cultural sector as a whole.

Why?

The project envisages different activities focusing on fourteen macro-topics, identified among the hottest areas for the skills development in the sector: from digital communication to copyright and authors’ rights, from public-private partnerships to promoting cultural heritage, from cultural welfare to audience engagement. There are also numerous activities and meetings to develop them and the planned outputs, including reports and guidelines.

ICOM Italy decided to turn to BAM! for facilitation support and mentoring in the organisation of a number of thematic working tables.

How?

BAM! supported ICOM Italia in the design and facilitation of the working table on Inclusion and multichannel engagement, held online on 22 July 2024. Professionals and experts were invited to exchange views on the topic, in order to identify best practices and case studies that could be used to lay the foundations for subsequent work on the same topic.
BAM! is also involved in the conception, design and facilitation of the working table on Cultural welfare and accessibility in autumn 2024.

Both are structured as moments of dialogue, following participatory and co-design methodologies, alternating moments of theoretical investigation and group work.
