WIKIMUSEUMS

about museums and open data

On May 5th and 6th 2016 the Pignatelli Museum in Naples hosted the first experiment of Wikimuseums: two days of meetings dedicated to the challenge of open data for Italian museums, the digitization of art collections and the wiki approach to cultural heritage.

Workshops, case histories and testimonials from Italy and the Netherlands helped us get to know the most innovative digital tools we can use to bring citizens closer to the cultural patrimony of our cities: a way to rediscover the public function of our heritage and the active role of the community in defining its value and importance.
