The international call for museums that want to be remixed from 10 to 12 November 2017 is open and the Italian community is up and running, with lots of new energy and new volunteers, ready to support museums and people in the sector who are interested in the format and want to apply to take part (by the deadline on 30 April!).
After a few (only seemingly) quiet months here at BAM!, we’re also heading back into the field to work on the second Italian edition of Museomix.
The organisations that supported the creation of the community last year (including Aster, IBC Emilia-Romagna, Nemech – New Media for Cultural Heritage – and NEMO Network of European Museum Organization) and many of the participants in Museomix 2016 who enjoyed the experience, have got involved in publicising the format and identifying museums to assist with applying for the new edition.
The next events we will be involved in as part of this rich and complex team (a new Tuscan community has also been started!) will be two workshops developed specifically in order to provide aspiring museomixers with the right tools for getting involved in this venture:
- How to… Museomix during the Salone del Restauro / Musei di Ferrara, Wednesday 22 March from 2:30 p.m.
- How to… Museomix as part of the “Museum Digital Transformation” conference in the Grande Museo del Duomo di Firenze (early bird tickets available until 6 March!), Friday 24 March from 2:30 p.m.
