The Distretto della Multimedialità [Multimedia District] is a project that began in December 2007 thanks to the partnership between the Region of Emilia-Romagna and the Italian Ministry for Young People. As part of this initiative, the Cineteca di Bologna launched the Centro per lo Sviluppo dell’Audiovisivo e l’Innovazione Digitale in Emilia-Romagna, which among other things provides funding to support films with close ties to the local area.

Mapping and network management for the Centro per lo Sviluppo dell’Audiovisivo e l’Innovazione Digitale in Emilia-Romagna
The project
Why?
The Cineteca di Bologna mapped the region’s multimedia organisations on a preliminary basis to enable it to implement the centre’s future activities in a strategic fashion, based on a logic of close ties with the local area.
How?
BAM! helped to outline the district using quantitative and qualitative recognition to map multimedia firms. BAM! then created a benchmark with other similar clusters in Italy and abroad so as to identify potential formats for the development and management of the district.
BAM! contributed to the creation of a network of firms, collecting their details and building the foundations for the construction of a new model of development and support for those working in the audiovisual and multimedia sector in Emilia-Romagna.
