Establishing contact and creating a dialogue with key industry players, providing organizational help and support, in light of the Netherlands’ institutional and commercial mission in Italy.

The project

The Netherlands’ institutional and commercial mission, set to begin in Italy between the 20th and the 23rd of June 2017, is an extremely important event in the diplomatic history between Italy and the Netherlands.

An opportunity to reinstate a dialogue and start new collaborations also between the cultural and creative sectors of both countries through introductory and follow-up meetings with major players in the sector will take place in Rome and Milan from the 20th to the 23rd of June 2017.

Why

BAM! Cultural Strategies has been chosen by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Italy as partner in supporting the arrival of a group of representatives from Holland, who will be involved in meetings with institutional entities and companies in the cultural sector, paying particular attention to the digital world.

Objectives: pinpoint, contact and involve institutions and companies working in the Italian cultural sector, especially companies and organizations working in the digital development sector. To work alongside the Embassy of the Netherlands to organize meetings with these companies, stretching over two days in Milan and Rome. To try to mediate and establish a relationship and partnership between the figures involves, and finally, to communicate the initiatives, starting with a call to involve the stakeholders, until the end of the mission.

How

The first step was to work alongside the Embassy of the Netherlands in the planning phase and subsequently to reach out to Italian companies who stand out both a national and international level for innovation within cultural heritage sector, with mapping and networking.

Subsequently, a national call was made for projects that focus on the digital world which reached over 30 thousand web users, over 80 sign ups and brought a final selection of 15 projects to be presented during the Netherlands’ mission in Italy.

When Netherlands’ officials and the Dutch monarchy are in Italy, BAM!’s role is to manage, organize and offer support during the meeting, which consists of:

  • A “one-to-many” meeting, divided into themes, followed by an informal networking meeting on the 21st of June in Rome
  • A session including all parties and networking event based on “one-to-one” exchanges on the 22nd of June in Milan.

In short, BAM!’s job is to provide the participants with all the necessary tools to allow them to get oriented and “connect” with each other (preparation, information needed for the exchange of information, contacts and administration) supporting the work of different groups by offering support and communication outside of the event, which began from the moment the call was launched on web and social media channels from both the Embassy of the Netherlands and by BAM!.
