The four ceramics museums in Savona’s museum district put themselves forward as a single territorial and cultural identity for the first time.
La Baia della Ceramica is the name used in the new information leaflet to describe the network comprised of the Museo Civico Villa Groppallo (Vado Ligure), Museo della Ceramica (Savona), MuDA Museo Diffuso (Albisola Marina) and Museo Manlio Trucco (Albisola Superiore). Freely inspired by the pull-out map format, the leaflet shows the location of the four institutions on the Savona coastline and creates the perception of a single area, with a shared vocation for ceramics, which can be explored on the basis of this cultural characteristic.
This new communication initiative is helping to develop a shared cultural and territorial identity, both among the local people, and among the various players involved, which is exactly what the Museo Senior project has aimed for since its launch. Presenting the four museums in Savona’s museum district under the heading “La Baia della Ceramica” and showing them together is an important step forward along the path of boosting synergy between the area’s institutions.
The initiative is one of the ideas proposed by the group of Senior spectators, who have been working alongside the museums in the area since 2018 to come up with new activities as part of the Museo Senior project. In addition to the Senior group, BAM! Strategie Culturali and Associazione Amici di Casa Jorn, the creation of the leaflet also involved staff from the four museums and all the Museo Senior partners, implementing a partnership among local players, which is what the project aims to strengthen.
The Baia della Ceramica leaflet is available in the Savona area, in the four museums involved, from tourist information points and from tourist attractions. It can also be downloaded in pdf format from the Museo Senior project website.
