The DIMMI finalists will be presented to the public during the 35th Premio Pieve Saverio Tutino on 13 September
The fourth edition of DIMMI Diari Multimediali Migranti, the national competition for migrant stories, closed on 20 May with a great result: 122 entries and authors from thirty-eight different countries. Over the following months, the committees assessed all the stories and picked nine, which will feature in the collection of migrant stories published this year by Terre di mezzo Editore.
The competition finalists will be presented to the public during the three days of the 35th Premio Pieve Saverio Tutino event, an initiative promoted by the Archivio Diaristico Nazionale di Pieve Santo Stefano, in the province of Arezzo. It will be a weekend packed with meetings, readings and performances on the subject of memory and autobiography. The DIMMI award ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday 13. The authors will all be present and there will be contributions from Monica Barni, Gaia Colombo, Paolo Masini, Cristina Ubah Ali Farah and Ilaria Zambelli, coordinated by Natalia Cangi. Excerpts from the winning diarists will be read out by Donatella Allegro and Andrea Biagiotti. BAM! will be in Pieve to attend the event and provide live coverage on the project Instagram channel @storiemigranti.
This will be the final event in this edition of the DIMMI di Storie Migranti project, developed to combat migration stereotypes and prejudices through self-narration and the sharing of real stories and experiences, able to help people of different origins and backgrounds really get to know and understand each other.
The full programme for the event is available on the Archivio Diaristico di Pieve Santo Stefano website.
