Sunday 19 November saw the start of NEMO’s annual conference, entitled And… Action! Museums in the Climate Crisis, on the role museums can play in relation to the climate emergency. During the conference, experts and researchers from the sector from all over the world will share their experiences, initiatives and projects with an audience of museum professionals belonging to the European network NEMO. BAM!, which has been part of the network since 2022, is in Lahti in Finland to listen, learn, collaborate and meet other organisations.
Society as a whole is called upon to contribute its resources and tools to tackle climate change, which is a collective emergency. Within this context, cultural organisations play a central role in adopting virtuous organisational practices, disseminating impactful narratives, providing their visitors with tools to interpret contemporaneity and collaborating with different organisations to develop innovative projects.
During these days together we will be seeking to learn, share ideas and collectively develop tools and solutions to recommend and use in our museums.
