A campaign to promote the initiative and strategic workshops tailored to museums

The Project

Tutti i musei su Wikipedia” is a project promoted by Wikimedia Italia in partnership with ICOM Italia, Creative Commons Italia and the “Cognetti de Martiis” Department of Economica and Statistics at the Università di Torino. The project aims to involve Italian museums in Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects, helping them to develop their own Open Access Policy, to enhance and make their collections accessible online and thus reach new audiences and communities.

It is possible to sign up to the initiative free of charge on the Wikimedia Italia website. The ultimate goal is to make digital images and documents available via free licences or tools that can be used by anyone surfing the net.

Why?

Open access could be used as an integral part of promotion and communication strategies bridging collections and audiences, yet institutions do not always have the right tools and incentives to embrace the open approach.

How?

Since 2024, BAM! has been a partner of Tutti i musei su Wikipedia, promoting it with a communication campaign and supporting museums and institutions through strategic workshops.
Within the project application form, interested organisations can request support from BAM!, which offers its expertise through free consultancy meetings tailored to the needs and concerns of each institution.
