BAM! is supporting Nordic embassies in communication development and the management of online events for the project launched to draw attention to the gender gap in Italy’s jobs sector

The Project

The Embassies of Denmark, Norway and Sweden in Italy have come up with the Be Smart Be Equal project, dictated by a growing demand for solutions inspired by the Nordic gender equality model and the strong need for innovative solutions to ensure a sustainable balance between work and private life.

Why?

At the heart of the project is a cycle of events on the subject in partnership with A future and EWMD Roma, which aim to trigger a debate about the main challenges facing the jobs market and to demonstrate that the economic loss due to the employment gender gap is a fact.

The project seeks to tackle the theme of gender equality through different lenses and by involving different sectors of Italian production. The various meetings will therefore be targeted at different audiences, taking different approaches.

An initial digital kick-off event will involve businesses and the corporate sector, creating a gender equality forum based on sharing best practices and CSR policies.

Other activities will include workshops and seminars on the challenges faced by women in the creative cultural sector, such as the visual arts and film production. Another two events will involve young professionals linked to the world of start-ups, as well as men of all ages in the #globalguytalk initiative.

How?

The Nordic embassies have asked BAM! to support its internal development of the project communication and the promotion of the various events.

BAM! has therefore developed an online workshop with all the project players to discuss the project targets and objectives together and to identify the messages to be conveyed. This activity provided BAM! with the necessary elements for developing two proposals for the project logo and their potential applications, as well as a communication guidelines document, which were then left with the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish embassies to support them with their management of the Be Smart Be Equal communication.

BAM! also identified a number of audience outreach and engagement actions, which the Nordic embassies will be able to develop to expand the project audience and boost the loyalty of the community already present and active in Italy with regard to gender equality.

Lastly, from 28 April 2021, BAM! will be offering its technical support for the management of the online events involved in the Be Smart Be Equal project, hosted on the Zoom platform with simultaneous translation and, in some cases, broadcast live on Facebook.
