A three-day workshop to develop structured, operational and sustainable ideas for the promotion of the Parco dei Campi Flegrei

The Project

The Parco Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei is a Ministry of Cultural Assets and Activities institution that has been granted special autonomy. It comprises twenty-five archaeological sites in the Phlegraean area north of Naples: a place with unique history, nature and scenery.

With the objective of boosting the cultural tourism offering, while also fostering social and economic growth in the area, the Parco Archeologico management decided to draw up a new strategic plan and open up to the active participation of the local area.

Why?

The Parco delle Idee was one of the actions envisaged by the new strategic plan for the Parco Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei: a three-day participatory workshop, from 8 to 10 November 2019 in the Castello di Baia, adopting a multidisciplinary methodological approach open to numerous different players in the area.

The initiative, also open to the involvement of people from the world of local business and cultural institutions, as well as to young people from nearby and further afield, was organised in partnership with the Department of Social Sciences at the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II.

How?

During the three-day workshop, participants were asked to develop structured, operative and sustainable ideas and proposals to be developed in partnership with the park.

Design

BAM! supported the Parco Archeologico dei Campi Flegrei from the project drafting and definition stage: developing the ideas for the workshop, structuring the work programme and fine-tuning the call for participants.

Facilitation

The workshop participants were divided into work tables and set the task of translating individual ideas into consistent proposals that, at the end of the three days, facilitated by BAM!, would take shape and be presented during the plenary session on the Sunday afternoon. At the end of the workshop, BAM! supported the park in writing a document that sums up the proposals and the results achieved by the work tables over the course of the three days: an operative tool for growing the seeds sown during the workshop.

Communication

BAM! formed “Il Parco delle Idee” brand and developed its coordinated image, going on to shape all the communication and work tools needed to launch the call (which led to 136 people signing up and 79 ideas in under 10 days) and to carry out the workshop activities, communicating them to the outside world. BAM! also came up with the social media communication strategy, managed the digital channels for the park and coordinated the press office activities during the event.
