Analysis, channel mix and visual identity for ICOM Italia’s 2025 membership campaign

The Project

ICOM Italia is the Italian National Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM), the international organisation that represents museums and museum professionals. It has over 4000 members, including current and retired museum professionals, students, benefactors, and museum and cultural institutions.

At any time of the year, you can renew your membership or apply to join the ICOM Italia community for the first time, benefiting from the numerous advantages on offer: training and professional exchange activities, online and face-to-face events, including the Assemblea Nazionale dei Soci (National Assembly of Members).
A membership campaign is launched between October and November every year to encourage renewals and registrations for the following year.

Why?

This year ICOM Italia – which has reached a membership of over 4000, becoming the 4th largest National Committee in the world – has started to rethink the visual identity and content of its membership campaign, aimed at conveying what it means to be an ICOM member, with greater emphasis on the benefits offered.

How?

After analysing the context and reviewing the communication channels utilised by ICOM Italia to date, BAM! strategically assisted the organisation in developing a communication campaign that highlights its core values, services and initiatives, showcasing the benefits available to ICOM members.

In order to achieve this, BAM! developed:

  • a visual identity that focuses on the people, the opportunities and the different nuances that make up Un mondo di ICOM.
  • a communication strategy for achieving the set objectives, centred around priorities agreed upon with ICOM Italia.
