Elisabetta Bovero, director of the Biblioteca Malatestiana, shares the development prospects for Europe’s oldest civic library.
”The risk of poverty is very high. We libraries can truly be a community outpost with our free services. Giving everyone a chance to be equal is of no little importance. The risk of cultural poverty is another alarm bell that cannot be ignored. Libraries can be parallel spaces to schools, places were cognitive, affective and relational development can be furthered.
