A course for the future protagonists of digital transformation on the culture scene

The Project

November 2023 saw the launch of the first Master in Innovation and Digital Production at IED Torino, coordinated by Alessandro Bollo, manager, advisor and design and cultural innovation expert, now a project manager at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan.

Designed to offer the necessary tools to lead the digital transition in the world of culture, the master’s degree aims to provide multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.

The one-year course aims to develop a systemic vision of digital innovation and digital transformation in students, giving them the ability to apply this to the processes of heritage conservation, development, management, promotion, marketing and use.

Within this context, BAM! was asked to deliver a number of lectures spread across several modules of the master’s course.

Elena Bertelli and Federico Borreani are the two BAM! partners who, as experts in audience development, digital engagement and communication in the cultural sector, will speak in the classroom as lecturers, providing expertise, frontal lectures, workshop opportunities and case studies, with a specific focus on digital transformation for cultural organisations.

The first session of live lectures, held in Turin in late November, was devised and developed by BAM! together with Alessandro Bollo and the staff at the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, the Museo Nazionale del Risorgimento Italiano and the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, with the objectives of introducing the course topics, introducing the students and making initial contact with those working within the city’s cultural institutions who find themselves facing the daily challenge of innovation and opening up to new audiences.
