Planning and managing the communication for an exhibition that goes beyond sports reporting and presents rugby as a social model for inclusivity and togetherness

The Project

After the two recent successes – “70 anni dopo. La grande Alluvione” (70 years on. The great flood) and “Giovanni Miani, il leone bianco del Nilo” (Giovanni Miani, the white lion of the Nile), Palazzo Roncale is hosting a new exhibition from 22 October. This one unites rugby and Rovigo in a wonderful story that has been unfolding since 1935. The exhibition is promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo and produced by Arcadia Arte, with the patronage of the Comune di Rovigo.

Why?

Rugby is everywhere you go in Rovigo. Children grow up with the legend of a sport that is all about identity, history and values. The Polesine area demonstrates this identification through facts: you just have to look at the involvement of the local fans, who represent a unique case in Italy.

The exhibition, curated by Ivan Malfatto, Willy Roversi and Antonio Liviero, inspired by an idea of Sergio Campagnolo, demonstrates the population’s strong ties with this exciting sport.

The communication campaign developed by BAM! also aims to increase visitor numbers at the exhibition, reaching communities outside the province of Rovigo and making contact with those who don’t know the story but could get excited about Rovigo’s rugby background.

How?

Arcadia Arte, which the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo entrusted with the production of the exhibition, has once again chosen BAM! Strategie Culturali as a partner for developing and managing the communication campaign, both before and during its opening to the public.

A BAM! team was in charge of preparing the distribution strategy for the exhibition content on different channels, both online and offline, as well as defining the digital strategy and managing Palazzo Roncale’s social media.

Starting from September 2022, until the end of the initiative, BAM! will be in charge of: producing communication content, defining and managing a media campaign in local newspapers, managing a poster campaign in more than 20 municipalities in the provinces of Rovigo, Padua and Ferrara, and managing Palazzo Roncale’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, on which it will also carry out social ADV campaigns.
