Communication planning and management for the exhibition that Rovigo is devoting to the explorer 150 years after his death

The Project

Following on from the success of 70 anni dopo. La grande Alluvione, Palazzo Roncale is getting ready to host a new exhibition, devoted to Giovanni Miani, an explorer from Rovigo who died 150 years ago, after adventuring far and wide in Egypt in pursuit of legendary vestiges of the past and great ideals.
The exhibition, which will open with free entry from 12 March to 26 June, is sponsored by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo and produced by Arcadia Arte.

Why?

The exhibition, curated by Mauro Varotto, on the basis of a project developed by Sergio Campagnolo, brings the story of a nineteenth-century explorer – the man who devoted his life to discovering the sources of the Nile – to the public’s attention for the first time.

Documents, maps, historical exhibits and artworks symbolic of Orientalism: the free exhibition at Palazzo Roncale will give visitors the chance to immerse themselves in distant lands and learn about the achievements of a determined, courageous and mostly unknown man.

It is precisely the unprecedented nature of the exhibition and the fact that the character is unknown to most people that presents a communication challenge.

How?

Arcadia Arte, which the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo entrusted with the production of the exhibition, chose BAM! Strategie Culturali as a partner for the conception and management of the communication campaign accompanying the exhibition, both before and during its opening to the public.

A BAM! team was in charge of preparing the distribution strategy for the exhibition content on different channels, both online and offline, as well as defining the digital strategy and managing Palazzo Roncale’s social media.

From January 2022 until the end of the initiative, BAM! will be responsible for:

  • producing the communication content,
  • identifying and managing a media campaign in the local papers,
  • managing a poster campaign in more than twenty municipalities in the provinces of Rovigo, Padua and Ferrara,

managing Palazzo Roncale’s Instagram and Facebook accounts, on which it will implement social ADV campaigns
