Graphic identity for the exhibition I libri del Papa at the Biblioteca Malatestiana

The exhibition entitled I libri del Papa. Pio VII Chiaramonti nel specchio della sua biblioteca (The Pope’s Books. Pius VII Mirrored by His Library) opened in the Sala Piana of the Biblioteca Malatestiana in Cesena on 27 April 2024.
The project is part of the programme of celebrations to mark the bicentenary of the death of Pope Pius VII, together with three other exhibitions and a series of events organised by the Comune di Cesena and the diocese of Cesena – Sarsina.

BAM!, together with In-novo, was asked by the Comune di Cesena to support it in developing the exhibition.
On the one hand, BAM! designed and created the graphic identity for the exhibition and developed the printed and digital communication materials.
On the other hand, starting with the identity, In-novo was responsible for developing the communication materials and displays that shape the exhibition narrative, both outside and inside the Sala Piana.

Starting by studying the precious volumes kept in the Biblioteca Piana, which houses the private book collection of Pope Pius VII, BAM! developed a graphic identity for the exhibition which, through a pattern of bright and vivid colours, recalls the image of volumes arranged on the shelves of a library.
The same identity connects the various exhibition panels, created by In-novo to guide visitors through the different exhibition sections, which are reflected in the printed communication materials (poster, postcard, folded leaflet, bookmark) and digital communication materials (social media content) produced by BAM!
