GIOCA Reunion: celebrating twenty years of the international master’s degree

“Innovation and Organization of Culture and the Arts”, also known by the acronym GIOCA, is the master’s degree offered by the Department of Business Sciences in the School of Economics and Management, Università di Bologna.

The course, which is based on a strong interdisciplinary approach combining management, sociology and human sciences, seeks to develop skills for managing the arts, culture and creative sector.

To mark twenty years of the international master’s course, students, alumni and teaching staff are celebrating its anniversary on Saturday 13 May 2023 at the MaMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bologna.

In addition to being an opportunity to embrace old classmates, the Reunion meeting, organised by GIOCA together with the Almae Matris Alumni Association, also aims to help participants expand their networks and discuss topical themes relating to the various parts of the creative and cultural industries sector.

The Associazione Bologna Art Manager, whose members include GIOCA alumni with different skills and professions, supported the organisation of the Reunion meeting with a project team that, in addition to several people from BAM! Strategie Culturali, also included Sofia Calzavara, Marta Moretto and Francesca Pedone.

There are various kinds of proposed and moderated networking activities, all centred around the theme of “change”: pure networking and discussions on specific topics through the World Café format, with as many as nine different discussion topics, facilitated by members of the association.
