Social media strategy and management for Bologna’s videodance festival

The Project

ZED is Italy’s first festival dedicated entirely to videodance, hosted by various cultural venues in Bologna for the last three years. The programme ranges from films all about dance to immersive installations to be explored using a VR headset, meetings, workshops and seminars. It involves dancers and creatives from all over the world.

Why?

The festival reached its third year in 2021 and is once again putting itself forward with a programme that is more innovative than ever, operating in dialogue and in combination with other cultural realities and dance festivals from the city of Bologna.

BAM! is one of ZED Festival’s media partners and looks after the direct management and promotion of its social media channels. Its activities have includedstrategic planning, copywriting and planning an ADV strategy (sponsored).

How?

BAM! supported ZED through an initial phase of context analysis, which also involved drawing up strategic guidelines for social media management, and then an Editorial Plan based on the festival’s promotional requirements, with the objective of making the festival’s communication even clearer and more effective.

It was particularly important for ZED Festival to reach a diverse audience, incorporating not just dance lovers but also cinema, technology, virtual and augmented reality enthusiasts. An ADV plan was therefore developed with a view to reaching new spectator target groups and improving the festival’s positioning in the eyes of stakeholders and the general public.
